Since opening in August 1995, The Equipoise has established a repuation for professionalism and excellence. A proud Aveda concept salon, The Equipoise is located in Williamston and serves clientele from throughout the mid-Michigan area.
Karen Joy McGarry opened The Equipoise after working as a director, instructor and stylist at other salons. Karen Joy and her staff take time with each client to listen to their individual needs and assess what look will best fit their lifestyle from a fashion, hair cut and color, and makeup perspective in a relaxing environment.
The Equipoise consists of a small staff, but proudly offers a large amount of services, products and quality. Our staff consists of Karen Joy McGarry, Katie Dufort, Sarah Eckert, Hailey Porter and Samantha Thompson. Each stylist participates in advanced training classes throughout the year.
Karen Joy is a gifted hairdresser and educator. Karen Joy is highly sought after to inspire customers, staff and students with her skills with the scissors. She has used her experience in business to make The Equipoise the success it has become and she has earned the highest marks among her clients.
Katie joined The Equipoise in June 2011. She is a graduate of Dansville High School and the Capital Area Career Center for Cosmetology. She recently attended a series of Aveda classes in Ohio and Michigan, including courses specializing in hair color.
Sarah joined The Equipoise more than five years ago after graduating from the Capital Area Career Center for Cosmetology. She is available for full services, including manicure, pedicure, facials, wax, hairstyling and haircolor.
Samantha is a 2000 graduate of Williamston High School and the Captial Area Career Center for Cosmetology. She joined The Equipoise in February 2001 and later graduated from the Health Enrichment Center for Therapeutic Massage.
Hailey joined The Equipoise staff in September after graduating from Excel Academies of Cosmetology and earning her complete cosmetology license. She is a full-service technician and recently attended Aveda courses in hair color system and deep dive color.
